17/10/24Changing times, more appointments, more flexibility
COVID and new technology have changed the way we all do things, and when we do them.
Historically Saturday was a busy day for Opticians. Work commitments meant it was the only day many clients could conveniently get to see us. By opening on Saturdays we could also create more clinical space, running six clinics a week rather than five.
But working patterns have changed and additional flexibility in the way we all work mean we as a business have more demand in the week but less on a Saturday.
Our clients tend to want to have eye tests Monday to Friday and have fun and family time on the weekend (not that having an eye test isn’t fun, of course).
We have reacted to our overall increase in demand by increasing eyecare time on weekdays. Helped by our investment in new technology and the arrival of our brilliant Clinical Director Sam, you can now choose from ten clinics Monday to Friday, up from six previously.
Alongside that, from the 26th of October we will be reducing our offering on Saturdays. Of course, for some of you Saturday appointments are still the most convenient, so we will continue to offer Saturday clinics by appointment, opening one Saturday a month. In addition we will also offer more out of hours appointments on other days in the week.
Working less Saturdays will be a great boost to the lives of all of the team at CI Optometrists, especially as most of us have young families. It also allows greater continuity and consistency of our staffing in the week. This means we can keep and attract the very best staff, which is a direct benefit to you and us.
One thing will not change. That is our commitment to providing you with the best eyecare available anywhere, anytime.
