09/04/21A message from Joseph

I’m Joseph Seaman, and I am both proud and fortunate to have recently taken over from Claudine as owner of Claudine Ickeringill Optometrists.

Both Claudine and I would like to thank you for all for your kind wishes after our recent message announcing the change. We would like to stress that although she has passed on the business ownership, she remains in the team in a supportive role. Claudine is holding clinics 2 – 3 days per week so you will still be able to see her for your eyecare.

We are going to be staying true to the values on which Claudine has built the practice and you will continue to enjoy the very best eyecare, personal service and the very best in frames and lenses.

I have enjoyed meeting many of you during the six years I have worked in the business. But to introduce myself properly to those I have yet to meet, I’m Joseph, born and brought up locally, and I live with my wife and three children in Chichester.

I have varied clinical experience, first with Boots Opticians and then with a number of independent Opticians. I have also worked at the QA eye hospital in the macular degeneration department and recently completed my independent prescribing theory qualification. I sit on a range of professional panels for both Johnson and Johnson and Bausch and Lomb as I have a special interest in Multifocal contact lens fitting. I also have an interest in Myopia management, helping to control and slow down the progression of short sightedness in children and teenagers.

When I’m not looking after your eyes I love playing and watching cricket and am a keen squash player.

I have learned a lot working with Claudine and am proud she feels confident to pass a business founded on such strong values to me. We plan to keep abreast of changing times while staying true to timeless values.

We are open, COVID-secure and ready to deliver you the best in eyecare.
