22/10/16Cutler and Gross Shakespeare Collection
British luxury eyewear brand Cutler and Gross present for 2016, the Cutler and Gross Shakespeare Collection.
Marking the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the new collection is inspired by some of his most memorable characters and celebrates his iconic work. Each frame personifies a historic character through new shapes and colour palettes. Hamlet 1234 makes a debut in new colourway Swamp and new shape Portia 1021 adds a contemporary feel to the collection. Mercutio 1232 revisits the classic construction in signature acetate colour Humble Potato.
Since it’s establishment in 1969 Cutler and Gross frames have been synonymous with quintessential British style, creativity and craftsmanship. The artisan creation of each pair of glasses is the essence of the brand. Each frame takes four to six weeks to produce at the Cutler and Gross dedicated facility in Italy. The process undergoes tailored steps, from cutting to polishing, with every step completed by hand. The manufacturing process has evolved to a 21st century high-accuracy methodology enhanced by digitally controlled production and quality control. A perfect blend of handcrafted heritage and bold design.
Since the design of it’s first frames, the company took an important decision to consciously avoid any overt branding. Typically the brand logo is discretely located in gold foil on the inside of the temple, creating a quiet statement. Cutler and Gross eyewear is identified not by the logo but by quality and design, targeted to a particular individual with a strong personal style beyond fashion trends.
Cutler and Gross have collaborated with some of the most prestigious names in the industry including Erdem, Giles Deacon, Victoria Beckham and Jay-Z for Barney’s New York. The brand has also featured on the big screen in many films. Julia Roberts in Notting Hill, Michael Fassbender in The Counselor, Colin Firth and Samuel L Jackson in Kingsman; The Secret Service and more recently Sandra Bullock in Our Brand is Crisis. Among the celebrities wearing Cutler and Gross: Sir Elton John, Madonna, Keira Knightley, Rihanna, Kate Moss, Hugh Grant, John Legend and Alicia Keys.
We are delighted to be one of the few select distributors of the brand and bring the latest releases to our customers in store. Call in and see the Cutler and Gross Shakespeare collection, new for autumn/winter 2016.
