2024 has been an interesting and busy year with lots of new developments and we are looking forward to another year of constantly improving your eye care in 2025.
We are always pleased to see you, and we will be open as usual from 9-5 up until and including Monday 23rd December. We will then close for the festive break, and will reopen fresh and ready for 2025 on Tuesday 2nd January.
Clubbing together – The CI Club
One of the nicest developments during 2024 is seeing so many of our clients joining the CI Club. We have just signed up our 1,000th member. So that is one thousand of you enjoying fixed eye care costs, 20% off glasses, accidental damage support and discounts on accessories and contact lenses, all in return for a small monthly direct debit. The CI Club brings individual benefits to you and helps us plan and resource your services. Its growing success means we have been able to hold 2024 rates for 2025. That is a good start to the New Year!

Looking both ways
Good eye care must look two ways, you want to see well and look good. So we are pleased to provide the best clinical eye care available and complement that with stylish modern frames and accessories. During this year we grew and evolved our frame range. We now have a particularly lovely selection of new styles in the practice, with good availability of top ranges such as Chanel, Tom Ford, Orgreen and Cutler and Gross. These brands would make great Christmas presents, for yourself or your loved ones – start 2025 off with a new look!
If you are lucky enough to be looking forward to a ski break then our new technical brand of eyewear, Evil Eye, adds to our established sportswear brands, Oakley and Maui Jim. Technical development is happening fast in sports eyewear with care and attention into production of individual frames and lenses for specific sports. Choosing the right glasses and sunglasses for each sport make a significant difference to both performance and safety as well as how you look. Not just for skiers, our range also brings advanced benefits for tennis players, shooting enthusiasts and sailors.
Less glamorous but also important is the steady improvement in lens technology. During 2024 we introduced more responsive photochromic coatings and coatings which make keeping your glasses clean much easier. We are keeping a good eye on the continuing technical development of lenses so we can ensure that we always have the best available for you.
Dry eye service
More staff and more appointments during 2024 have helped our Dry Eye Service go from strength to strength. Over 65 patients have now benefitted from our in house dry eye service and they report excellent results. We are adding a new Microexfoliation treatment called NuLids for our patients with persistent blepharitis. These in-practice treatments combine with our expert advice on a simple and effective at-home routine to make a real difference to the scourge of dry eyes.
Your Team
More services and more clients meant we were able to grow your team during 2024. Sam has joined Claudine and Joseph in our optometry team. As Clinical Director he is using his experience to ensure our clinical offering continues to be gold standard. Izzy has also joined us as an optical advisor, bringing amazing enthusiasm to our dispensing team.
On personal notes both Livia and Emily brought happy healthy baby boys into the world in 2024. Joe H, Kerry, Mandy, Zahra and Joseph’s children are growing fast and Maria is keeping us all on our toes!
Opening Hours
With the addition of Sam, we have doubled our clinical capacity during the week and now provide two clinics each week day. This allows us to continue offering our generous testing times of 60 minutes whilst serving our growing client base and providing emergency appointments when you need them. We are now shut on Saturdays, allowing all of us to recharge and have valuable family time each week. We can still offer some Saturday appointments by appointment only for those who need it.
