02/04/25We’re sponsoring audio-described theatre performances

Hi, Joseph from CI Optometrists here.

It’s show time!

Your eyes matter to us. Our mission is to help you see better. But if we can’t do that, we still want to make it easier for you to live with visual impairment. That’s why we are sponsoring Audio-described performances for shows at Chichester Festival Theatre.

CI Optometrists is now a Spotlight Sponsor of our fantastic local theatre and they are using our support to help provide Audio-described performances and other support for visually-impaired theatre goers. So even when you can’t see, you can still enjoy the show.

As part of our sponsorship, we have four pairs of tickets for visually-impaired clients and their chaperones to come to the Audio-described performance of Top Hat with us on Friday 15th August. These tickets include a touch tour before the show. And we are stumping up for interval drinks and ice creams.

So, we would like to invite any of our clients with visual impairments to contact us if they would like to join us and enjoy Top Hat in a new way. If you are interested, please contact us on 01243 532080 or email us on info@cioptometrists.co.uk

There are plenty of seats for Top Hat and other shows with Audio-described support, full details are on the CFT website.

The Audio-described performances provide an aural pre-description and a live commentary on what is happening over special discreet earphones. There is a touch tour in advance of the performance so you can go on stage and feel the sets and costumes. All seat row ends and individual seats have Braille signage and the theatre provides a Braille or large print cast list.

Check out Chichester Festival Theatre website for details of their accessibility support and the shows which are supplemented with Audio-described support.
