Business Owner and Optometrist
Joseph has worked at CI Optometrists since 2015 & became owner in 2021. He has an interest in Multifocal Contact lens fitting & sits on many industry contact lens panels. His history of working at QA Hospital Portsmouth’s AMD department means he has extra experience in Macular Degeneration. He is passionate about myopia control. He loves using our state of the art equipment to make people’s lives better & always recommends the ideal product for their needs & gives practical help with any eye concern. Joe plays squash & cricket and has four young children. Favourite glasses: Joe loves his green face a face glasses
Sam Howe
Optometrist & Clinical Director
Sam joined us in May 2024. He brings ten years of experience in independent optometry. He has a particular interest in dry eye and retinal health. He is also soon to complete his independent prescribing course widening our expertise. He is a keen hiker and on his weekends off can be found walking up mountains in the Lake District. His experience as a keen hockey player for Petersfield means he adds a new perspective to sports eyewear. Favourite glasses: Sam loves his Maui Jim sunglasses

Mandy Smith
Dispensing Optician
Mandy has worked at CI Optometrists for over ten years. Before this she worked in a range of boutique opticians in central London. She has a great eye for style and brilliant experience in all aspects of dispensing. Mandy has a young family and loves nothing more than having a Braai (Zimbabwean BBQ) with friends and family. Mandy loves her Chanel frames with elegant metal arms.
Joe Harmes

Joe joined us in 2021 after managing a large multiple opticians in Portsmouth. Joe has a passion for sports vision and has helped the practice improve its sports vision offering. Joe loves rugby, football and boxing. He is a real family man and loves DIY. Favourite Glasses - Joe loves his Crystal Cutler & Gross Glasses
Kerry Stevens
Dispensing Optician
Kerry joined our growing team in 2022. She brings a wealth of experience from her twelve-year career in an independent practice in Petersfield. Kerry likes to travel and spend time with her daughter and family. Favourite Glasses - Kerry loves her round colourful Woow metal frames.
Isobel Hunter
Trainee Dispensing Optician
Izzy graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Biology and decided that she wanted to go into optics. Having previously worked at another practice, she then joined us in November 2024 as a Trainee Dispensing Optician.

Front of House Manager
Bea joined the team in December 2025. She has a long experience of working in customer service in various retail settings. You might spot her in town walking to work as she lives very locally in Chichester.
Zahra Hawes
Front of House
Zahra joined the practice in 2014. She has past experience working in an opticians but also spent many years working as an airline steward. Zahra spends time on front of house and keeps on top of back office jobs within the practice. Zahra loves to be outdoors and is a keen cyclist and walker. Favourite Glasses - Zahra loves purple and has the perfect pair of purple mottled Lindberg acetanium frames

Back Office Support
Maria worked in practice from 2022 - 2026 and now works as back office support for the team.
